Helen has done a big career u-turn, and after 20 years’ working in high-level corporate jobs is now taking her passion of working with people into psychology.
Helen is a generally registered Psychologist having completed her Masters in Professional Psychology at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Helen currently works both in the disability sector and in private practice, seeing clients across the age span from children and adolescents to adults and older persons with a wide range of conditions, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, physical and intellectual disability, and psychosocial concerns such as anxiety, depression and stress.
Helen also focuses on providing parent and family support, and enjoys working with adults going through significant life transitions such as parenthood, job changes/loss, relationship concerns, children leaving home and divorce.
Helen has experience in behavioural and cognitive assessment and has extensive knowledge of the NDIS.
Helen uses evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is also a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner and Circle of Security Facilitator.
Helen loves working as part of a team and will collaborate with other allied health providers to work towards therapy goals.
Helen can provide therapy and support for clients with NDIS funding and private/Medicare clients.
