We provide psychological support for trauma including childhood trauma and domestic violence trauma. When somebody experiences a traumatic event they can experience a range of feelings and behaviours.
Strong emotional responses (anxiety, panic attacks, shock, anger, fear, sadness)
Intrusive thoughts of the event (Flashbacks) and Nightmares
Feeling disoriented or confused
Avoidance of activities or places that trigger memories of the event
Withdrawing from social interactions
If symptoms persist for an extended period it is possible that you may be experiencing Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Seeking help will help alleviate these concerns.
Two of our psychologists are also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy.
