Support Group Therapy

We also provide a range of group sessions.

We know that the perinatal period can be an isolating time for many. Our vision with our groups is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to connect with other like-minded mothers.

We provide a range of mother’s support group sessions including the “Circle of Motherhood” for mother’s in the perinatal period. Our Circle of Motherhood group is a therapeutically structured group with a focus on attachment and relational frameworks. We know that the perinatal period can be an isolating time for many, so our vision with our therapeutic support groups is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to connect with other like-minded mothers

We also provide a monthly mother’s support group drop in clinic run by Midwives, Perinatal Psychologist and Lactation Consultant. It’s a great opportunity to connect informally with other mothers and ask questions related to the perinatal period. We also invite guest speakers to come in to talk on a range of topics.

Perinatal Mother’s Support Group Therapy

Circle of Motherhood Group

You are invited to come connect with like-minded Mummas in a safe and nonjudgemental space as we navigate the journey of early motherhood.

Our group will be informed by attachment theory and is focused on exploring the transitions, adjustments, emotions and challenges that being pregnant and having an infant brings. Additionally we will be focusing on strengthening and exploring relationships (with others, yourself and your baby), to facilitate a supportive and positive parenting experience.

The group will be facilitated by Clinical Psychologist Cassie Osborne and Psychologist Emilie Bull– both who are passionate about working with Mum’s at this stage of life and supporting them in developing an enjoyable parent-infant relationship.

Some of the topics and themes include:

  •  Self compassion/relationship with self

  •  Looking after mum and discovering your own parenting strengths

  •  Expectations in parenting and the role of internal dialogue and the past influences

  •  The couple relationship and transitions in parenthood

  •  Changes to the relationship with our village and how we navigate these

  •  Interacting with baby and understanding baby’s internal world

Who can attend:

The group has limited spaces and is open to pregnant Mum’s and Mum’s with babies up to 12 months.

There is no out of pocket cost with referral.
